PTSA Nova Roots
We are dedicated to building community at Nova High School.
Nova Roots is an evolving working group dedicated to building community engagement between students, parents/guardians, staff/teachers, alumni, and others. We aim to identify Nova needs, and focus energy and resources to meet those needs.
We are actively working to undo policies and practices that have historically marginalized POC families in PTAs and encourage all families, students, staff and alumni to participate in this work.
Nova Roots has a steering committee comprised of representatives from students, alumni, Nova staff and families. We are looking for new steering committee members, so please reach out if you’re interested. Monthly meetings are open to all. This team is also represented at the Nova student committee meeting every other Thursday as part of Nova’s leadership and decision-making structure.
You can also join a Nova Roots work group focused on supporting Nova in the following ways:
- Community: Alumni Outreach, Social Justice Projects, School Projects, Events & Advocacy
- Communication: Newsletters, Websites, Social Media, Marketing and Content Creation
- Support: Parenting Workshops, Front Office Support, Community Resources
- Giving: Donations, Grant writing, Thank You Events
There are many different ways to get involved in Nova Roots.
