Attendance
Nova Attendance Policy
Attending class regularly and being on time has a direct impact on a student’s success in meeting course requirements for high school graduation. Frequent absences or tardies, resulting in a student missing all or parts of instruction, demonstrations, discussions, or other classroom activities, are detrimental to the individual student and the class. A large part of learning takes place during class discussions and participation. Many of our teachers use instructional methods that require student participation; if students are absent, they miss out on that learning.
Reporting an Absence
Please contact the Main office at 206-252-3500, or email novahs.attendance@seattleschools.org to report an absence. Nova follows the attendance requirements mandated in the WA State Compulsory Attendance Law, as well as the Contact Requirements & Truancy Guidelines outlined by OSPI, for Washington State ALE Schools.
