Nova Attendance Policy

Attending class regularly and being on time has a direct impact on a student’s success in meeting course requirements for high school graduation. Frequent absences or tardies, resulting in a student missing all or parts of instruction, demonstrations, discussions, or other classroom activities, are detrimental to the individual student and the class. A large part of learning takes place during class discussions and participation. Many of our teachers use instructional methods that require student participation; if students are absent, they miss out on that learning.

Reporting an Absence

Nova follows the attendance requirements mandated in the WA State Compulsory Attendance Law, as well as the Contact Requirements & Truancy Guidelines outlined by OSPI, for Washington State ALE Schools.
